Can Cullen hangers be fixed through Fermacell fireboard?

In some instances you may need to fix Cullen hangers against fire resistant boards for fire separation.

The only board that Cullen hangers can be fixed to is Fermacell boards (maximum thickness of 15mm) due to the existing knowledge of this board through testing.

The following must be adhered to -

1. Only applies to Fermacell boards and cannot be applied to any other board type

2. Solid timber must be behind the Fermacell board for the hanger fixings to embed into.

3. Where 3.4x35mm square twist nails are specified for the hanger please replace with 3.35x50mm
   annular ringshank fixings.

4. Hanger loads are reduced by 25% when fixing into Fermacell boards please check and ensure that a
   suitable hanger is specified.

5. Where loadings are greater than 75% of the hanger capacity please refer to Cullen technical.
